The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at SGBIT, Belagavi has established a formal Memorandum of Understanding with ALS Bengaluru. This MoU facilitates collaborative training programs, technical workshops, industry-oriented add-on courses, and placement-linked activities for ECE students, bridging the gap between academic learning and industry requirements in electronics and communication engineering.
The ECE Department at SGBIT has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Govt. ITI Polytechnic, Belagavi. This partnership enables collaborative technical programs, joint workshops in electronics and communication technologies, faculty exchange, and student exposure to vocational training, strengthening the academia-industry connect for ECE students at SGBIT.
ECE students from SGBIT visited Creintors Automation Solutions Pvt. Ltd. (CASPL) on 22nd October 2022. Students gained exposure to industrial automation technologies, robotics applications in manufacturing, and the integration of electronic control systems in production environments. The visit provided valuable insights into how electronics and communication engineering concepts are applied in real-world automation and innovation.
ECE students from SGBIT visited Venudhwani Community Radio Station, operated by JNMC, Belagavi on 25th November 2022. Students observed live radio broadcasting infrastructure, audio editing studios, signal processing equipment, and RF transmission systems. The visit enriched students practical understanding of communication engineering principles applied in broadcasting and community media.
ECE students from SGBIT visited Vishwabharati Technologies Pvt. Ltd. on 13th December 2022. The visit included hands-on exposure to PCB soldering and de-soldering techniques, DOJO training methodology, pneumatic systems, electronics assembly inspection, and packaging processes. This industry interaction provided students with a comprehensive view of electronics manufacturing and quality assurance workflows.
ECE students from SGBIT visited Kaynes Technology on 25th April 2023. Students observed the complete PCB manufacturing process including bare board fabrication, component placement (SMT), reflow soldering, automated optical inspection (AOI), and final quality control. The visit strengthened students understanding of large-scale electronics manufacturing and PCB design-to-production workflows.
ECE students from SGBIT visited the ISRO Master Control Facility (MCF) at Hassan, Karnataka on 26th April 2023. Students received an in-depth orientation to satellite operations, telemetry and telecommand systems, satellite health monitoring, orbital maneuver planning, and mission control activities. The visit was an exceptional industry exposure experience offering insights into space communication engineering at a national level.
ECE students from SGBIT visited Enerzi Microwave Systems Pvt. Ltd. on 13th February 2024. The visit covered the working methodology of microwave systems design and manufacturing, recent developments in microwave technology, industrial microwave applications, and quality standards in RF and microwave engineering. Students gained valuable exposure to cutting-edge microwave communication and heating technologies.
An expert talk on Building Successful Startups and Entrepreneurship Centers was delivered to ECE students at SGBIT by Tarun Chaturvedi from the IIT Kanpur Startup Incubation Center on 8th April 2021. The session covered the startup ecosystem, ideation-to-product development, funding strategies, and the role of electronics and communication engineering in technology entrepreneurship.
An expert talk on Machine Learning – Why and How? was delivered to ECE students at SGBIT by Dr. Uday V. Wali, Adjunct Faculty at SGBIT, on 5th May 2021. The session introduced students to supervised and unsupervised learning, neural network fundamentals, and the practical applications of machine learning in signal processing, image recognition, and communication engineering.
An expert talk on Entrepreneurship and Startup Development was organized for ECE students at SGBIT on 18th May 2021. Speaker Harshit Reddy Boreddy from Uila Tech LLP shared insights on technology startup formation, product-market fit, funding approaches, and the journey from engineering innovation to a successful technology business venture.
An expert talk on Research Article Writing was conducted for ECE students at SGBIT on 3rd June 2021. Dr. Surekha Borra from K.S. Institute of Technology, Bangalore guided students on scientific writing methodology, research paper structure, literature review techniques, manuscript preparation, and the peer review process for publishing in reputed journals and IEEE conferences.
An expert talk on Resume Building and Crafting First Impressions was organized for ECE students at SGBIT on 16th June 2021. Tarun Chaturvedi from IIT Kanpur provided practical guidance on crafting impactful engineering resumes, tailoring applications for electronics and communication industry roles, and making strong professional first impressions during campus placements and technical interviews.
An expert talk on Recent Trends in VLSI Design was delivered to ECE students at SGBIT on 2nd April 2020 by Aishwarya Hiremath and Aditya from Marvel Semiconductors, Pune. The session covered advanced VLSI design methodologies, semiconductor fabrication trends, System-on-Chip (SoC) architecture, and career opportunities in the VLSI and semiconductor industry.
An expert talk on Computer Networks was delivered to ECE students at SGBIT on 5th April 2020 by Gopal Kagawad from Nokia Networks, Bangalore. The session covered modern network architectures, 4G/5G communication protocols, network security, and the role of Nokia in global telecommunications infrastructure, providing students with industry-relevant insights into networking and communication engineering.
An expert talk on Embedded Systems was conducted for ECE students at SGBIT on 11th April 2020 by Mahesh Patil from Global Edge, Bangalore. The session covered embedded system design, microcontroller programming, real-time operating systems (RTOS), and the application of embedded technologies in IoT devices and industrial automation, bridging theoretical learning with industry practice.
An expert talk on Cloud Computing was organized for ECE students at SGBIT on 5th May 2020 by Praveen Eklere from Infosys, Hyderabad. The session introduced students to cloud service models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS), major cloud platforms, cloud security, and the growing role of cloud infrastructure in communication systems, data storage, and modern engineering applications.
An expert talk on VLSI Basics was delivered to ECE students at SGBIT on 16th May 2020 by Adarsh Kamkar from Sankalp Semiconductor, Hubli. The session provided foundational knowledge of VLSI design flow, digital logic synthesis, timing analysis, and the career landscape in the Indian semiconductor design industry, inspiring students to explore VLSI as a specialization.
An expert talk on Neural Networks as Web Services was delivered to ECE students at SGBIT on 27th May 2020 by Dr. Uday Wali, Faculty at SGBIT. The session covered neural network deployment as REST APIs, model serving frameworks, and the integration of AI inference engines with web applications, providing students with practical knowledge of deploying deep learning models in engineering solutions.
An expert talk on Academic Research in Modern Perspectives was conducted for ECE students at SGBIT on 4th June 2020 by Dr. Prabhat Sharma from NIT Nagpur. The session highlighted current research methodologies, interdisciplinary research in electronics and communication, the importance of publishing in indexed journals, and strategies for pursuing research careers in premier institutions and industry R and D centers.
