About the Council

Role & Mandate

The Governing Council of S G Balekundri Institute of Technology (SGBIT), Belagavi, is the apex statutory body constituted as per the norms prescribed by AICTE, New Delhi, and the affiliation requirements of Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU).

The Council comprises distinguished educationists, industry leaders, government nominees from AICTE, DTE and VTU, and the institutional leadership. It meets periodically to review the academic, financial, and strategic functioning of the institution under the aegis of the Shree Siddharameshwar Education Trust (SSET), Belagavi.

Policy Oversight
Frames and reviews institutional policies in compliance with AICTE, VTU and UGC regulations.
Strategic Planning
Guides the long-term academic and infrastructural growth of SGBIT Belagavi.
Financial Governance
Approves annual budgets, fee structures, and ensures financial accountability.
Quality Assurance
Drives NAAC, NBA accreditation initiatives and continuous quality improvement.
