The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) was established by the Ministry of Education, Government of India in 2015 to rank higher-education institutions across India. NIRF evaluates institutions based on five broad parameters:

• Teaching, Learning & Resources (TLR) – Faculty-student ratio, qualification of faculty, financial resources.
• Research and Professional Practice (RP) – Research publications, patents, and sponsored projects.
• Graduation Outcomes (GO) – Pass percentage, PhD completions, and placement/higher studies data.
• Outreach and Inclusivity (OI) – Regional diversity, gender diversity, and economic inclusivity.
• Perception (PR) – Industry perception and peer assessment.

SGBIT participates annually in NIRF and submits detailed institutional data for transparent, data-driven evaluation. Participation in NIRF reflects the institution's commitment to accountability, transparency, and continuous quality improvement.
