Transport Overview

How we connect SGBIT with the community

The institution provides comprehensive transport facilities for students and staff from various locations in the city and nearby towns across Belagavi district. The fleet consists of 12 modern buses covering several routes to ensure safe, timely, and convenient travel.

All buses are equipped with GPS tracking and CCTV cameras to ensure passenger safety. Experienced, background-verified drivers and conductors manage the fleet. Transport services operate on all working days including Saturday, with special arrangements for examination days.

Students can avail of transport services by obtaining a Bus Pass from the Transport Office. Passes are issued semester-wise at subsidized rates to promote sustainable commuting.

Transport Rules

Students must adhere to the following rules for a safe journey

Transport ID Card Mandatory
All students availing bus facility must carry their Transport ID card at all times. The card must be shown to the conductor on demand.

Reach the Stop 10 Minutes Early
Students should reach their designated bus stop at least 10 minutes before the scheduled pickup time. Buses will not wait beyond schedule.

Bus Pass is Mandatory
A valid bus pass must be obtained from the Transport Office before boarding. Passes are issued semester-wise. Expired passes are not accepted.
03
Maintain Discipline in the Bus
Students must maintain discipline and decorum inside the bus. Misconduct, loud music, or any form of harassment is strictly prohibited and punishable.

No Standing Allowed Beyond Capacity
Students must not stand in aisles or beyond the designated seating capacity of the bus. Safety regulations must be strictly adhered to.

No Damage to Bus Property
Any damage caused to bus seats, windows, or other property will be recovered from the concerned student. Vandalism is a punishable offence.

Report Complaints to Transport Office
Any grievance regarding bus timings, conductor behavior, or route deviations should be reported immediately to the Transport Coordinator.

Emergency Contact Numbers Displayed
Emergency contact numbers of the Transport Office are displayed inside every bus. Students should contact the office in case of breakdown or accident.

Violation of transport rules may result in cancellation of bus pass. All disputes should be reported to the Transport Office immediately.
