Memorandum of Understanding signed on 18th September 2019 between SGBIT Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering and KGTTI, Hubballi. KGTTI has conducted specialized training and internship programs for EEE students, providing exposure to German engineering standards, industrial automation, and vocational technical skills aligned with international industry practices.
Memorandum of Understanding signed on 16th February 2022 between SGBIT Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department and HESCOM, Hubballi. The MoU facilitates industrial visits to power distribution infrastructure, internship opportunities, expert lectures by power sector professionals, and collaborative technical programs for EEE students.
Memorandum of Understanding signed on 25th March 2022 between SGBIT EEE Department and Shantala Power Limited along with Shantala Industrial Consultants Training and Research Centre, Hubballi. The MoU supports training programs, internships, and collaborative activities in power systems engineering and electrical installation practices.
Memorandum of Understanding signed on 1st September 2022 between SGBIT Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department and Vishwabharati Technologies Pvt. Ltd. The MoU facilitates collaborative training, industrial visits, student internships, and project guidance in electronics, embedded systems, and industrial automation technologies.
Memorandum of Understanding signed on 9th March 2024 between SGBIT EEE Department and Gram Vikas Society, the implementation partner for the Schneider Electric India Foundation. This MoU facilitated the establishment of the Schneider Electric Industrial Automation Training Laboratory at SGBIT, providing free internship and training to B.E. and Diploma students.
19 students of 7th Semester, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, SGBIT visited the Varahi Hydro Electric Power Plant at Hosangadi, Udupi District on 28th October 2024, accompanied by Prof. Mallikarjun Bhagawati. Students gained firsthand knowledge of hydroelectric power generation, turbine operation, generator systems, and grid connectivity infrastructure at this major Karnataka power plant.
Over 40 students of 5th Semester EEE at SGBIT visited the Supa Dam Hydroelectric Power Station, Joida Taluk, Uttara Kannada on 8th November 2024, accompanied by Prof. S.I. Marihal, Prof. Sangeeta Muttagi, and Prof. Ashwini Mekkalaki. The visit provided comprehensive exposure to large-scale hydropower infrastructure, dam operations, powerhouse machinery, and electrical switchyard systems.
43 students of 5th Semester EEE at SGBIT visited the Almatti Hydro Electric Power Plant, Vijayapur District on 29th January 2024, accompanied by Prof. Santosh Raikar, Prof. K.C. Hanchinal, and Prof. Ashwini Mekkalaki. Students observed power generation from the Krishna river, turbine and generator assemblies, control room operations, and the transmission infrastructure of this major Karnataka power project.
More than 19 students of 6th Semester EEE at SGBIT visited the Varahi Hydro Electric Power Plant at Hosangadi on 22nd June 2023, accompanied by Prof. Mallikarjun Bhagawati and Prof. S.I. Marihal. The educational visit reinforced students knowledge of hydroelectric generation principles, plant operations, electromechanical systems, and power evacuation practices.
28 students of 3rd Semester EEE at SGBIT visited the 220 KV Substation of Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Limited (KPTCL) at Hindalco, Belagavi on 7th December 2022. Accompanied by Prof. Mallikarjun Bhagawati, Prof. S.I. Marihal, and Prof. Basavaraj Hugar, and hosted by Er. A. Sutar (AEE) and Er. Sanjay S. (AE), students received a comprehensive explanation of substation equipment including transformers, bus bars, circuit breakers, isolators, and protection systems.
32 students of 4th Semester EEE at SGBIT visited the Bagmane Green Power LLP Solar Photovoltaic Plant at Hirekudi, Chikkodi Taluk, Belagavi on 29th February 2020, accompanied by Prof. Shrivatsav Madabal and Ms. Shruti Kurbar. Site Engineer Chetan Hajare explained the complete energy flow from solar generation through inverters to transmission, providing students with practical insights into renewable energy systems and grid integration.
The Schneider Electric Industrial Automation Training Laboratory was formally established at SGBIT on 28th March 2024, funded by Schneider Electric India Foundation and Kwality Animal Feeds Pvt. Ltd. under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). Valued at Rs. 20 Lakhs, the lab provides free internship and training in industrial automation, PLC programming, SCADA, and electrical control systems to both internal and external B.E. and Diploma students.
